The Tapetum lucidum is a reflective layer in a dog or cats eye which causes a green shine in the animal's eyes when we take pictures. This additional layer in the eye allows the animal to have better night vision. This green shine makes the red eye reduction tool useless for us when we try to correct the reflection. The tool removes red but not green or other reflected colors. So how does one correct this problem? Try selecting the imperfection with the magic wand or quick selection tool. Then make adjustment to the color using the hue and saturation command tool. It's not as quick as the red eye reduction tool but it's a fix that will help our pet's eyes look more natural.
