Excel 2007 has a new feature that makes it easier to create formulas and use functions. The Formula AutoComplete feature works in a cell or in the formula bar. It initiates when information is entered following an equals sign (=). Excel recognizes the first letter entered after the equals sign as the start of a function and displays a drop-down list containing functions that begin with that letter. The list is narrowed down as more information is entered. A tool tip is displayed for each function listed to aid in making the correct selection. A selection can be made from the list by double-clicking on an item or by clicking once on the item and using the Tab key. This feature can also be used for defined range names.
